Reno Man Leads Officers On High Speed Tuolumne Chase

Sonora, CA — A Nevada man was arrested after leading local officials on a pursuit through Tuolumne County.

A Jeep Cherokee was reported stolen out of the City of Sonora, and it was located by Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office deputies at around 8pm on Tuesday. The driver declined to pull over, and the CHP took over the pursuit on Tuolumne Road North near Portofino Road. The 15-minute chase reached speeds over 85 mph and eventually ended when the driver came to a stop on Highway 108 near Peaceful Oak Road in the Standard area. Officers detained the suspect, 35-year-old Ryan Bonnett of Reno.

Details surrounding the stolen vehicle, and what Bonnett was doing in Tuolumne County, are not immediately known. He was booked into Tuolumne County Jail on charges of evading, possession of a stolen vehicle, and possession of stolen property.
