TCBC Supports Stone Mill Center Project

Columbia, CA — The Tuolumne County Business Council is lending its support to the Stone Mill Center project proposed for Columbia.

The planning commission in January voted to approve a site development permit, and a mitigated negative declaration, for the 16,000 square ft. retail center proposed at the intersection of Parrotts Ferry Road and Union Hill Road.

The development would include a prompt care, and potentially a dental office, hardware store, deli or other commercial entities.

The group Citizens For Responsible Growth has filed an appeal against the project, and it will be heard on March 7 by the Board of Supervisors. The group is concerned about the location, traffic, and that it may be the first part of a larger development.

Tuolume County Business Council President Glenn Caldwell has authored a new myMotherLode.com blog speaking about the benefits of the project. You can read it by clicking here.
