Update: HWY 108 Crash Cleared

Update at 2:40 p.m.: The CHP reports Highway 108 has been completely reopened to traffic after a Chevy Tahoe crashed and overturned blocking the eastbound lane. The roadway was down to one-way traffic control for more than an hour. One person was injured in the crash.

Update at 2:24 p.m.: The CHP reports the five people trapped inside a Chevy Tahoe that crashed on Highway 108 have been freed. One person was injured and taken by ambulance to Sonora Regional Medical Center.  The SUV is blocking the eastbound lane of the highway at the Long Barn Road intersection. Officers are directing traffic as they are waiting for a tow crew to arrive and remove the wreckage.

Original post at 1:45 p.m.: Long Barn, CA — Emergency crews are on the scene of a solo-vehicle wreck backing up traffic on Highway 108 in the Long Barn area.

The CHP reports a Chevy Tahoe crashed and landed on its roof with five people possibly pinned inside. The SUV is in the middle of the eastbound lane. Ambulances have been called to the scene.  There is no word on injuries. We will bring you more details as soon as they come into the newsroom.
