Sonora To Vote On Hiring Interim Police Chief

Sonora, CA — The Sonora City Council will vote whether to hire former Modesto Police Chief Michael Harden to serve as the Interim Chief. It is on the agenda for Monday’s meeting. Harden retired in 2012 following a 30 year law enforcement career. He would take over during the short-term for the retiring Mark Stinson.

In other business, the council will vote on approving the Mitigated Negative Declaration and environmental documents related to the Dragoon Gulch Trail Expansion.

During closed session, the city leaders will discuss the search for a permanent Police Chief, as well as the negotiations related to the purchase of the Corner Gas property at the Mono Way and Greenley Road intersection.

The meeting starts at 5pm on Monday at City Hall.
