Yosemite, CA — Roads heading into Yosemite Valley have reopened this morning, and all lodging, restaurants and facilities are operational.
Park Ranger Scott Gediman reports that all roads leading in the valley were closed at 5pm yesterday due to a forecast for potential flood conditions. Today’s reopening is because the Merced River crested below flood stage, early this morning, resulting in no signficant damage to park roads or operations. Visitors are encouraged to drive with extra caution as there is still water on the roadways, downed branches and minor rockslides. Park crews will be working over the next several days to clean the roadways and remove the debris. Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System (YARTS) buses are back running on their normal schedule.
