Martinez To Layout Goals For SCC

Jamestown, CA — Hear from the new Warden Of Sierra Conservation Center.

Joel Martinez was appointed by Governor Jerry Brown to become the Warden this past October, and he will talk about his goals for the state prison on this weekend’s Mother Lode Views.

Martinez has worked at the prison for nearly 20 years. His roles have included chief deputy warden, associate warden, captain and correctional officer. He will talk about a range of topics, including how the prison has changed following the AB-109 implementation, challenges to filling fire camps, gang activity and rehabilitation programs.

Martinez replaced retiring Warden Heidi Lackner.
