Missing Person Evidence Search Underway In Crystal Falls

Sonora, CA — Multiple reports of possible search-related activity near Crystal Falls in the early hours Monday prompted Clarke Broadcasting to make some inquiries.

According to the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office, personnel onscene are conducting a search for evidence in relation to a missing person case. While no other details are being released, spokesperson Sgt. Deborah Moss states, “We do not expect to be there past today. Merced County Sheriff’s Office is assisting us with some specialized sonar equipment.”

According to Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office records going back to 1991, 17 people are actively listed as missing; six of these cases were reported as such sometime this year. Of the 17 disappearances ten are male and seven are female. Although the Sheriff’s Office has not confirmed whether its search efforts specifically relate to any of these cases, back in June, as reported here, a Crystal Falls resident, 34-year-old Troy Galloway, who had not been heard from since January, was officially reported as missing by family members.
