Calaveras Transit Expanding To Saturdays

Special ceremonies are planned this weekend as Calaveras Transit expands its service to Saturdays.

This Saturday’s inaugural “Hopper Ride” will start at 10:30am at the La Contenta Plaza parking lot in Valley Springs. The bus will then travel to the Government Center in San Andreas, WorldMark and the Visitors Center in Angels Camp, and then to the Black Bart Playhouse in Murphys. There will be special ribbon cutting events at each of the stops this Saturday, including 11:23am at the Visitors Center in Angels Camp with Mayor Wes Kulm. Riders are encouraged to join in the celebration.

Every Saturday moving forward buses will stop at those same locations roughly every 90 minutes with the first bus leaving Valley Springs at 10:30am and last bus leaving Murphys at 6:30pm. The main stops are located in parking lots for passenger convenience. Calaveras Transit reports that the bus can also pick up passengers at any safe place along the route, but you must call ahead of time to 754-4450.
