Runner Concerned About State’s Tax System

Sonora, CA — Board of Equalization (BOE) member George Runner will share his views on a variety of topics.

Runner, a former state Senator, is the region’s representative on the statewide BOE. It is the only publically elected tax commission in the United States. Runner, a Republican, will explain the role of the board and what it actually does. In addition, he will talk about why he feels the state’s tax structure should be reformed, voice concerns he has about the pending minimum wage increase, provide an update on the legal efforts to overturn the SRA Fire Fee, and give his take on the state’s economy…based on incoming tax revenues.
