Update at 1pm: The Tuolumne County Roads Department reports that crews completed work early and Racetrack is back open.
Update at 10:25am: The Tuolumne County Roads Department reports that Racetrack Road, near Snell Street, will remain closed for the next 4-5 hours, likely re-opening sometime around 3pm.
Original story posted at 10:15am: A tree has fallen on Racetrack Road in Sonora, near the Snell Street intersection.
The CHP reports that the tree is around 2 ft. in diameter, and it is completely blocking the roadway. The tree also hit a utility line. It is not immediately clear when the roadway will be clear. County road officials are responding to the scene.
The alternate route is Shaws Flat Road to Jamestown Road.
