Sad Find In Calaveras County

Rail Road Flat, CA — Several passersby alerted Calaveras County Sheriff’s officials about a motionless man in a vehicle near Railroad Flat Elementary.

Deputies responded to the scene on Railroad Flat Road around 3 p.m. Thursday. They found an adult male slumped over the wheel of the vehicle, dead. Sheriff’s spokesperson Sgt. Anthony Eberhardt indicates that currently there is no evidence that would suggest any suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death.  He adds that an autopsy is pending to determine his cause of death.

The man’s name is not being released pending the notification of family.  The investigation is ongoing.
