K9 Helps Bust Alleged Drug Dealer

Tuolumne, CA — A Sheriff’s Office K9 helped deputies arrest a man in Tuolumne.

45-year-old Samuel Marquez of Mi Wuk was pulled over in his Ford Ranger pickup truck on Cherokee Road shortly after midnight. The deputy could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle. The K9 Hans was brought to the scene and could detect narcotics inside the truck. Deputies then searched the vehicle and found four packages of methamphetamine, four packages of marijuana, and a single package of cocaine.

Marquez was arrested for possessing and transporting narcotics for sale. He was booked into Tuolumne County Jail on $15,000 bail. The Sheriff’s Office notes that his truck was initially pulled over because the license plate was obstructed.
