Update: Hydrant Work Closes Sonora Intersection

Sonora, CA – Crews replacing fire hydrants in the downtown area have shut down an intersection to traffic.

As previously reported, Oakdale based, Mozingo Construction has crews working to switch out a water main and fire hydrants all week in the area of East Jackson Street and East Oakside Drive, east of Stewart Street. The company reports it has also closed the East Jackson Street and East Oakside Drive intersect to motorists for the rest of the week. The scheduled work is from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Friday, Feb. 5.  There may also be flaggers directing one-way controlled traffic on different roadways in that area at varying times throughout the day and week. Delays are expected to be minimal, ranging from 5 to 10 minutes.

Company officials caution drivers to keep an eye out for large construction equipment along with crews working on those roadways.
