Next Storm System Approaching

A winter storm will move through Northern California late Thursday through Sunday.

The first wave of the storm arrives late Thursday. It will be wet and warm. The heaviest rain and snow will occur Friday through Friday evening.

This will be followed by a second cooler storm wave on Saturday and Sunday.

Initially high snow levels on Friday will fall to around 4,000 feet on Saturday.

Expect travel delays this weekend, especially over Sierra passes. There will be travel hazards due to slick roads.

There is also the possibility of urban and small stream flooding in the Mother Lode, as well as debris flow near recent burn scars.
