CHP: Drive Slow Because Of Icy Roads

Sonora, CA — The CHP is encouraging travelers to use extra caution this morning.

“The roadways are extremely icy, so we are asking everyone to slow down,” says CHP Officer Nick Norton. “There might not be chain controls in effect, but there are patches of ice all over the roadways.”

The CHP is currently on scene of a rollover vehicle accident on Highway 108 near Soulsbyville Road. An ambulance has been requested. In addition, a vehicle has rolled over on Cherokee Road near Tuolumne Road.

In Calaveras County, the CHP reports that there is a traffic hazard on Murphys Grade Road, near Canyon Drive. Some large rocks have rolled into Murphys Grade Road, and it is impacting traffic.

Allow yourself extra time when traveling to your destination this morning.
