Governor Issues Statement On Deadly Shootings

Sacramento, CA – With police confirming at least 14 people killed and more than a dozen wounded after three gunmen, dressed in military gear, opened fire at a California social services center in San Bernardino Governor Brown has issued this statement:

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ families and everyone affected by the brutal attack. California will spare no effort in bringing these killers to justice.”

Brown’s office adds that out of respect for Californians affected by the tragedy, this evening’s annual Capitol Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony has been canceled. However, the tree will still be lit up at 5:00 p.m. Additionally, capitol flags are at half-staff in honor of the victims and their families.

Police have given no motive for this latest mass shooting, which comes five days after a deadly shooting at Planned Parenthood in Colorado, killing three.
