Annual Tuolumne County Health Fair Next Week

The popular Tuolumne County Health Fair is set for Tuesday and Wednesday October 20th and 21st, at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds in Sonora.

Kathy Amos, Tuolumne County Public Health Dept, was Thursday’s KVML “Newmaker of the Day”.

Amos expects over 100 booth participants this year.

Free screenings are expected to include hearing, vision/glaucoma, oral screening, chiropractic screening, bone density, body fat analysis, blood pressure, lung function testing and anemia testing.

Blood chemistry testing will be available for $25. Participants are asked to fast for twelve hours before having their blood drawn.

Residents will also have a chance to receive the seasonal flu shot. Pneumonia shots will be offered for the first time ever for those who are 65 years and older in the Creekside building.

Lunch will be provided by the Women of the Moose. The healthy offering includes choices in salads, fruits and granola bars for desserts.

The Health Fair will run from 7am until 3pm both days. Blood testing ONLY will begin at 5am to accommodate work schedules.

The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard each weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am.
