Victim ID’d In Sonora Vehicle Vs Pedestrian Accident

Sonora, CA — Sonora Police report a vehicle struck a Jamestown woman after she ran out between two parked vehicles on North Washington Street around 6:50 p.m. Thursday.

As previously reported, Sonora Police officers shut down the roadway between Linoberg and Bradford streets for about 25 minutes as emergency crews treated 19-year-old Christina Klaas. Police report a 2002 Subaru Outback, driven by 18-year-old Mandy Jackson of Acampo, heading northbound, hit Klaas after she ran between two parked vehicles on the west side of the roadway. Eyewitnesses at the scene told officers that Jackson did not have time to react as Klaas ran in front of her vehicle.

Klaas was taken by ambulance to Sonora Regional Medical Center suffering minor injuries. Police report neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in the collision.
