Motorcyclist Severely Injured In Solo Crash

San Andreas, CA — A serious single-vehicle crash during the evening commute Tuesday sent a motorcyclist to the hospital with major injuries.

The incident occurred on Highway 26 at Toloma Court in West Point around 4:50 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) San Andreas Unit. Reportedly neither drugs nor alcohol were a factor when 51-year-old John Dixon, of Amador City, while headed west on the highway at an unknown rate of speed and for unknown reasons, drove a 2000 Kawasaki off the road and into a tree.

Suffering major injuries as a result of the collision Dixon was subsequently airlifted to Memorial Hospital in Modesto. The CHP is requesting that anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call the San Andreas Unit offices during regular business hours at 209 754-3541.
