Fallen Tree Limb Kills Two In Yosemite

Yosemite, CA — Yosemite National Park officials report that two minors died this morning when a tree limb from an oak tree fell onto their tent.

Very limited information is currently available about the unfortunate event. The two minors were asleep at the time of the incident. It happened at around 5am in the Upper Pines Campground in Yosemite Valley. Park Rangers responded to the campground to provide medical assistance, but both of the juveniles were deceased upon arrival.

Yosemite Park Superintendent Don Neubacher has released a statement reading, “Our thoughts are with the families as they grieve this tragedy.”

The names, ages, and places of residence of the victims have not been released by park officials. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
