Update: Double Fatality Crash In Tuolumne County

Update 2:30 p.m.:  The CHP confirms two people have died in a crash on Highway 108 just before noon in Tuolumne County. The CHP and Cal Fire remain on the scene near Little Sweden where a vehicle went off the roadway down a 200 foot embankment.

Update 2:05 p.m.: The CHP confirms one person has died and another person suffered major injuries after a crash on Highway 108 near Little Sweden.  Cal Fire Spokesperson Lisa Williams says, “It was dispatched at 11:48 this morning. It started out with a low angle rescue and then they [emergency responders] did a hoist with two patients.”

Original Post 1:17 p.m.: Tuolumne County, CA — CHP is on the scene of a reported fatal crash in Tuolumne County. The CHP and Cal Fire report a vehicle went off Highway 108 and down a 200 foot embankment near Little Sweden. The CHP reports there is a fatality.

Stanislaus National Forest officials confirm a medevac has been called in as another person has been injured in the accident.  CHP reports a guardrail was damaged in the crash. We will bring you more information as soon as it becomes available.
