Updated: Fire At Union Hill Inn

Updated at 6am: Cal Fire reports that investigators are still looking into the cause of last night’s fire at the Union Hill Inn. The fire ignited at around 9:30pm.

CAL Fire Battalion Chief Barry Rudolph says, “Firefighters arrived to find the inn itself fully involved, and the fire was spreading into a small attached structure, as part of that. The inn itself was completely destroyed by fire. At one point we had ten different engines on the fire.”

No one was hurt as a result of the incident. Two engines remain on scene this morning because there are some areas still smoldering. Traffic is moving freely along Parrotts Ferry Road.

Original Story: 10:22pm  Columbia, CA — Firefighters are on scene of a fire at the historic Union Hill Inn along Parrotts Ferry Road.

CAL Fire reports that two structures are impacted, and 40 firefighters are on scene. No injuries have been reported at this time, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. The Union Hill Inn has long been a popular location for weddings in Tuolumne County.

CAL Fire reports that resources will remain on scene into the early morning hours. Travel with caution in the area. We’ll pass along more information when it becomes available.
