Man Stabbed While Trying To Aid Another

Rail Road Flat, CA – A Rail Road Flat man was stabbed while trying to help another man with his car, according to Calaveras County Sheriff’s Investigators.

The incident happened Monday at 9:08 p.m. at the Lakeside Mobile Home Park in Rail Road Flat.  When deputies arrived at the trailer park they found a 19-year-old male with multiple stab wounds on his chest, back, and side.  Investigators report the victim was conscious and alert when flown via air ambulance to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies spoke to several witnesses who told them the victim was trying to help 19-year-old Taylor Michael Baird of San Andreas with his car.  That is when investigators say Baird, for unknown reasons, allegedly stabbed the victim several times.

Baird was arrested for attempted murder and booked into the Calaveras County Jail.  His bail has been set at $510,000.  The investigation into the stabbing is ongoing.
