More Sierra Snow In Forecast

Another round of light snow is expected over the Sierra Nevada on Friday.

A cold front over the eastern Pacific is forecast to move into Northwest California late tonight into early Friday.

By mid morning Friday, light snowfall is forecast to begin over the Sierra Nevada mountains at elevations above 5000 feet.

A brief period of heavy snowfall is possible during the Friday afternoon and early evening hours.

Three to nine inches of total snow accumulation is expected by Friday evening.

This amount of snow is likely to create minor travel difficulties such as slick roads or brief
chain requirements.

If you are planning to travel into the Sierra Nevada from Friday morning through evening, prepare accordingly for periods of snow and possible delays.

The snowfall should end by early Saturday morning.
