Hwy 4 Reopened

Angels Camp, CA — The CHP reports traffic is once again moving on Highway 4 after a fatal crash involving a Big Rig and a Chevy pickup around 4:20 p.m.

The accident happened just west of Pool Station Road in Angels Camp.  Earlier, CHP spokesperson Rebecca Myers reported that an elderly man was being given CPR at the scene.  Myers confirmed that a person died in the crash, but did not have further information on the victim or whether there were any other people involved or injured in the crash.

Crews worked for about an hour and a half to clear the debris and reopen the highway just before 6 p.m.  During the cleanup, traffic was diverted via Pool Station Road and Highway 49 to Jamestown Road to O’Byrnes Ferry Road.
