Fraser Flat Closure Extended

Tuolumne County, CA — The contractor needs additional time to complete the replacement of the Fraser Flat bridge in the Stanislaus National Forest.

The Forest Service reports that the closure of the bridge and Sugarpine Railway Trail has been extended until at least December 15. Initially, the Forest Service hoped to have the project completed by October 31st.

Forest Civil Engineer Tim Hughes says, “With the on-set of colder, winter-like weather, we have asked that the closure order be extended to allow the contractor adequate time to build the bridge to Forest Service standards, and ensure the public safety throughout the during of this project.”

The new Fraser Flat bridge will have two lanes, instead of just one.
