New Director for Calaveras Chamber

Angels Camp, CA — The Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce has hired a new Executive Director. The new director is Valley Springs resident Staci Johnston who is involved with the Calaveras community as a former small business owner. Johnston is the former owner and director of an in-home daycare she operated since 1998.

Mark Borchin, President of the Calaveras Chamber of Commerce, says “The Chamber Board believes that the relationship between our local businesses, whether large or small, is imperative for successful networking and ultimate growth in the county.”

Johnston says her future goals for the chamber are to build up new businesses and promote the longtime county merchants as well. She replaces former director Diane Gray. The Chamber’s office is at 39 North Main Street across from the Calaveras Museum.

The Chamber will be hosting a Candidates Night Meet & Greet tonight in Valley Springs. At the event the community can meet those running for Supervisor District 5, Superior Court Judge Dept 1 and 2. Details are in the events calendar.
