CCWD Ends Dion’s Contract

San Andreas, CA — The Calaveras County Water District will begin a search for a new General Manager.

Following a closed session meeting to evaluate Mitchell Dion’s performance, the Board voted 4-1 yesterday afternoon to terminate his contract, effective immediately. The Board is expected to name an Interim General Manager within the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, department heads will perform the GM’s duties.

The Board did not give a reason for Dion’s termination. The Board terminated the contract “without cause.” Dion had been hired by CCWD in November of 2012. Before coming to Calaveras County, he was the GM of the Rincon del Diablo Municipal Water District near Escondido.
