Gas Leak Stopped

Crystal Falls, CA — A gas leak forces the evacuation of ten homes in Crystal Falls.

Cal Fire reports a tree fell on a 250 gallon JS West propane tank on the 16000 block of Creekside Drive around 7:15 this evening.  The impact broke a 3/4 inch gas line.  Thirty residents were evacuated.  Cal Fire says the tree knocked the tank off its platform and some “product” leaked into the Twain Harte Creek. California Fish and Game was notified.  A JS West propane crew was able to stop the leak. Residents were allowed to return to their homes in about two hours.
