Hiking Half Dome?

Yosemite, CA — Yosemite National Park will continue allowing only 300 people to hike Half Dome each day, and those interested should submit a request this month.

Once the cables are installed for the season, permits will be required, seven days a week, to hike to the top. Reservations will be distributed via a lottery system. The registration window starts today and continues through March 31. Click here for more information.

Approximately 50 permits will be available during the hiking season, and those will be based upon the number of no-shows and cancellations from the preseason lottery.

Hiking to the top of Half Dome is one of the most popular activities in Yosemite National Park. The peak is at an elevation of 8,842 ft.
