T.U.D. Special Meeting

Sonora, CA — Tonight the T.U.D. Board of Directors will vote on additional matters centered around the ongoing drought.

At the 5:30 pm special meeting, the Board will vote whether to give Board Chair John Maciel the authority to execute agreements that could secure additional water supply during the drought. The proposal would allow for quicker action, and the District Secretary would be asked to ensure that all actions are recorded and documented through the County Recorder’s office. The authorization would terminate when Phase III Conservation is declared over. As reported previously, T.U.D. has been in talks with the South San Joaquin Irrigation District regarding water from New Melones.

In addition, the Board will also vote on proposed amendments to the Phase III conservation requirements.

Meanwhile, a vote on a potential increase in ratepayer fees to offset costs associated with the drought, is expected to come at next week’s meeting.

Tonight’s special T.U.D. meeting starts at 5:30 pm in the District Office. You can watch live video in the multimedia section of myMotherLode.com. Click here to view.
