Erratic Driver Busted For Drugs

Sonora, CA — Erratic driving led to a drug bust in Sonora. An off duty Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Sergeant spotted a truck swerving on north Washington Street at around 6:30 p.m. Monday and contacted the Sonora Police Department.

Officers found the driver, 60-year-old Steven Mackusick of Antioch, parked at the Sonora Express Mart on Pesce Way. They determined Mackusick was under the influence of a controlled substance and searched him. Officers found Mackusick had six baggies of crystal methamphetamine and a glass-smoking pipe with methamphetamine residue.

Mackusick was arrested without incident for felony possession of a controlled substance. He was booked into the Tuolumne County Jail.
