Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors have adopted a Legislative Platform for 2014.
The platform states the county’s position on state and federal legislation that could impact the county. Some of that legislation includes water rights, the Secure Rural Schools Act, and CEQA/environmental impacts.
In regards to the environmental issues, District 1 Supervisor Sherri Brennan noted that federal officials only analyze their costs when determining whether a species will be placed on the endangered list.
Brennan says, “At no point is there an economic analysis done on the impact to areas where they will be listing the species. I would like it added that in the economic analysis of a species listing that they also look at the local economic impact.”
Brennan’s request was added to the platform which was unanimously approved by the Board.
