Murder Investigation At SCC

Jamestown, CA — State prison officials are investigating the death of an inmate at Sierra Conservation Center.

31-year-old inmate Andrew Tisnado was found in his bed this week with severe head injuries. He was taken to a Central Valley hospital and died Thursday night. The California Department of Corrections reports that the incident is being investigated as a homicide. The department is releasing very little additional information at this time.

Tisnado was committed in January of this year, and was serving a four year sentence for possession of ammunition by an ex-felon. He was scheduled for parole in November of 2015. Tisnado had been arrested and sentenced in Los Angeles County.
