Big Rig Accident In Forest

Tuolumne County, CA — Another big rig truck, reportedly pulling straw mulch, has overturned in the area where the BAER Team work is finishing up in the Stanislaus National Forest.

The CHP reports the new accident occurred this morning in an isolated area along Cherry Lake Road. No significant injures have occurred.

A 26-year-old Manteca man was tragically killed last Friday when his truck pulling straw went off the Clavey River Bridge. As of this morning his name has not been released as officials are still notifying family members.

The BAER Team work has included putting a straw compound on top of soil burned by the Rim Fire in hopes of preventing flooding and erosion. Much of the work is being done by outside contractors.
