Worker Sparked Fire

Calaveras County, CA – Cal Fire reports a grinder ignited a blaze near New Melones Lake. The flames broke out just after noon yesterday in the 33-hundred block of Stallion Way which is between Copperopolis and Angels Camp near New Melones Lake. Cal Fire reports a worker was grinding supports for a radio tower that sparked the blaze in the nearby brush. No structures were threatened. Cal Fire says the flames were contained in about a half an hour.
