Update Phoenix Lake Crash Is Now A Fatal

Phoenix Lake, CA — The CHP has confirmed a woman has died in the solo crash on the 20-thousand-block of Phoenix Lake Road between Midland Drive and Sommette Drive. The CHP reports for unknown reasons a Nissan Frontier pick-up truck went off the roadway and smashed into a tree. Officer Nick Norton says CPR was given at the scene and in the ambulance on the way to Sonora Regional Medical Center.

“The woman was not wearing her seatbelt, but we don’t know if her injuries caused her death or whether there was health issues involved,” says Norton.

Norton says they do not know how fast the truck was going at the time of the crash. The CHP reports the front end of the pick-up had major damage. The woman’s name is not being released at this time pending notification of the family.
