Still No Trial Date for Fowler

San Andreas, CA — The Lawyer for 13 year-old Isaiah Fowler who is accused of killing his 8 year-old sister has asked for more time to investigate. Fowler was in a Calaveras Superior courtroom this afternoon for a jurisdictional hearing. Fowler’s Attorney Mark Reichel asked the judge to push back the hearing for eight weeks so they can complete their investigation. The new hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, November 13th at 1:15 p.m. and a trial date will be set.

Fowler last appeared for a hearing on July 31st. At that time his attorney was granted an extension to have more time to review evidence. Fowler has pleaded not guilty to a second degree charge of murder.

Leila Fowler was murdered inside their Valley Springs area home on April 27th, and the autopsy revealed that she died from multiple stab wounds. The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office investigation found that the brother and sister were the only two in the home at the time.
