Kidnapping Attempt Reported In Valley Springs

Valley Springs, CA –The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a reported kidnapping attempt.


It happened yesterday afternoon, shortly before 5pm. The Sheriff’s Office says a female teenager reported that an unknown man attempted to get her to go with him in his vehicle and offered her marijuana while at the Veterans Field playground in Valley Springs.


When she refused, he came close to her, and she ran away. The man reportedly started yelling at her and then drove away in his vehicle. The man is described as a white male adult, 6’0″, husky build, with longer hair in the front, and shorter in the back. He was wearing a faded gray t-shirt and blue jeans. The vehicle was an older 4-door sedan with several scratches. The victim stated that it had Oregon license plates. Anyone with information on this situation should call the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office immediately at 209-754-6500.
