BOFG Cancels Classes Again

Groveland, CA — The Big Oak Flat-Groveland Unified School District is closed again today due to smoke, road closures and evacuations from the Rim Fire. Superintendent Dave Urquhart says a decision has not been made yet regarding whether school will start Thursday.

In Tuolumne County, it is the first day of classes for Sonora High School, Belleview Elementary, Columbia Elementary, Curtis Creek Elementary, Jamestown Elementary, Sonora Elementary, Soulsbyville Elementary, Summerville Elementary, and schools in the Twain Harte-Long Barn District.


In Calaveras County, classes start today at Bret Harte Union High School, Mark Twain Elementary, Avery Middle School, Albert Michelson, and Hazel Fischer Elementary.


The Calaveras Unified School District started back on July 29th, and Summerville High School started on August 14.
