Fire In Copperopolis Continues To Burn

Copperopolis, CA — Officials remain on scene of a 25-plus acre vegetation fire in the Copperopolis area.

It is in the 4500 block of Chuckwagon Drive, and it is moving in an easterly direction. The wind is posing a challenge to firefighters on scene. There are some structures in the area, spread across 20 acre parcels, but none are considered to be in immediate danger. The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office reports that there are no evacuation orders. The fire was reportedly started by a tree falling into a power line. Air and ground resources are on scene.
