A powerful winter storm is expected to produce some heavy rain and mountain snow later today and tonight in Northern and Central California.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for heavy snow and high winds in the northern mountains, the Sierra Nevada and Kern County mountains. Winds at the Sierra´s higher elevations could reach gusts of 100 miles per hour.
