They´re getting tough on toilets in Marin County.
When the Marin Municipal Water District´s directors meet tomorrow, they will be looking at a plan to conserve water by requiring installation of low-flow toilets when a house is sold.
If the estimated 33,000 existing standard toilets were converted to low-flow, the district would save about 464 acre feet annually over several years as homes changed hands.
An acre-foot can supply about three single-family homes with water for a year.
