One of three people convicted of a 1999 North Coast murder wants a new trial and the other two are likely to make the same request.
David Hanley made the request yesterday when he and his co-defendants appeared in court in Eureka for sentencing. The three are facing 25 years to life in prison.
Hanley, Lucan Keisner and Jeffrey Bowman were convicted of first-degree murder, burglary and attempted robbery in the stabbing death of Trinidad resident Julius Aubrey.
The three walked into Aubrey´s home and demanded money and drugs. After ransacking the house, the men started to leave. Then one of them turned and plunged the knife into Aubrey´s chest.
A fourth defendant is being tried separately because his wife was a key witness in the trial of the three already convicted.
The defendants are due back in court on November 16th.
