Bioterrorism Battle

Governor Davis is expanding California´s efforts to battle the threat of bioterrorism. Davis says he will call
on scientists from the University of California and the private sector to advise him on the state´s preparedness for a potential attack using biological weapons.
Since September 11th, state officials have held seminars to train medical personnel to spot and treat Anthrax and other diseases. Workers also are testing the
state´s water system daily. And the California Highway Patrol has stepped up patrols across the state from the aqueducts and bridges to amusement parks and
nuclear power plants. Now Davis says he will assemble the best scientists in the state to analyze what more should be done.
