Spot Fires Stubborn Problem

Firefighters in the Stanislaus National Forest are continuing to work on 16 small fires touched off by
lightning strikes this week. 13 of them have been contained or controlled.

CDF crews have been working on another ten scattered throughout their
jurisdiction in the Motherlode. Spokesperson Karry Hubbard says the largest of them covered about 2 acres of grass along Rancho Paloma Road. The rest
were stopped at less than an acre.
