Authorities called off the search today for an elderly Lakeside woman who vanished five days ago from a
Julian campsite.
Rescuers failed to find a trace of Edith Verline Baker, who disappeared early Sunday morning after going for a solo hike.
The
San Diego County Sheriff´s search-and-rescue teams, aided by dogs and a helicopter, were unable to find the 79-year-old grandmother after combing a
five-mile area.
