Wildfires continue to rage in Northern
California tonight. One has forced authorities to evacuate
residents of homes near the American River in Placer County. Another has closed a popular swath of Modoc National Forest.
The Ponderosa Fire in
Placer County has scorched more than two-thousand acres and spread within a half-mile of homes today.
