The state budget is on Governor Gray Davis´ desk. The budget cleared its final legislative hurdle yesterday,
when the Assembly approved a batch of bills required to enact the estimated 101 billion dollar spending plan.
It includes the increase in sales taxes
Republicans had opposed.
