Tuolumne County Sheriff´s are investigating a homicide.
Sherrifs´ Lt. John Steely says a young adult woman flagged down a passing motorist in the Columbia area around 2:15 Sunday afternoon.
The driver – Jerry Coey – told deputies the woman flagged him down and told him she had been shot and needed help.
He drove the wounded woman to Tuolumne General Hospital where she was pronouced dead at 2:38 Sunday afternoon.
Steely says the name of the woman is being withheld pending positive identifcation and notification of family.
